Leaving the open plains behind, you journey towards the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and the village of Materuni Waterfalls.
Here, a guided walk takes you through green farmland and coffee plantations to the waterfall hidden within the forest. The landscape is a striking contrast to the savannah, with cool air, flowing water, and dense vegetation.
After the walk, you are welcomed by the Chagga people for a traditional lunch prepared using local ingredients. The Chagga have lived on the slopes of Kilimanjaro for generations, known for their farming traditions and close connection to the land.
You may also take part in a traditional coffee experience, where beans are roasted, ground, and brewed by hand, often accompanied by song and shared laughter.
In the afternoon, continue to Arusha, arriving in the early evening in time to settle in and enjoy dinner at your lodge.
