Step into the wilderness on a walking safari in Arusha National Park, discovering rolling hills, crater lakes, and wildlife variety. Observe giraffes, zebras, and a variety of birdlife up close, guided by an expert ranger who shares stories of the local flora, fauna, and conservation. After a picnic lunch by the Momella Lakes, continue with a game drive through the park, encountering wildlife and capturing stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Head back to your lodge and let the memories of your first safari sink in.

Day 3

Enduimet Wildlife Adventure

Rise early for a full-day adventure to the Enduimet Wildlife Management Area, located just an hour from Tinga Tinga. At the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, this remote wilderness is home to large elephant herds and untouched landscapes. With few visitors, you experience an authentic safari where Maasai life and wildlife exist side by side. Return to Tembo Lodge in the afternoon and join the Maasai for a traditional BBQ around the fire, sharing stories under the African sky.

Day 4

Savanna Walk & Local Market Life

Start the day with a guided bushwalk through the savannah, discovering local plants, tracking wildlife, and learning Maasai survival skills. After breakfast, visit the vibrant local market, where villagers trade produce, crafts, and livestock while exchanging stories and laughter – a true window into daily life. Meet women’s groups supported by the lodge’s NGO, Maasailand Development, including beadwork and sewing groups. Leave Maasailand inspired and connected, then transfer to Lake Eyasi, the home of the Hadzabe and Datoga communities. The Hadzabe, nomadic hunter-gatherers, speak a click language like southern African bushmen and live intimately off the land. Venture into their wilderness, observe hunting and gathering, and explore alongside the Datoga, traditional pastoralists with cattle herding and blacksmithing skills. In the afternoon, arrive at Ombako Fly Camp. Explore the surroundings with Hadzabe guides, discover ancient rock art, and watch the sunset from a scenic viewpoint. Conclude the day with dinner around a campfire under the stars.

Day 6

A Day with the Hadzabe

Start early with coffee brewed over the fire before joining the Hadzabe for a morning of hunting, foraging, and wilderness exploration. Activities vary by season – join the women gathering roots, tubers, and wild berries, or accompany the men hunting with traditional tools. Taste fresh honey, berries, or small game, connecting with the Hadzabe’s authentic diet and ancient ways. On the return journey to Kisima Ngeda Camp, stop to visit the Datoga, skilled blacksmiths whose metalwork and pastoral traditions have shaped the region for generations. Back at camp, enjoy a leisurely lunch or explore the surroundings for an afternoon of quiet discovery.
